This has made me feel very happy. So glad you have a lovely and also practically minded man. Mine is the same variety and it’s a brilliant combination for those of us in danger of living very much in our heads. You both look like you’ve found the home you never had in your photo, happy happy ❤️

I am very excited to read this! I too was a huge Mary Stewart fan. I found a teen diary of mine a few years ago and was reading aloud from it to my husband and kids (then in their teens). I ran across a section where I'd just read Nine Coaches Waiting and was musing that I had to marry a man like Raoul, mysterious, brooding, and rich. We laughed so hard. I did end up rereading it, as did my daughter, and we both agreed that it was surprisingly good!

Oh, I loved Nine Coaches Waiting! Would be intrigued to re-read it. Yes, we are at SMT. We must meet up when we're next over! Will message you to let you know when we have clearer plans. (Don't like to give detail re time and location here.)

Oh Christina❣️ What a lovely post. It made me laugh and smile a lot. Big requisitions too.

I am happy for you (and us readers) that you picked up the book from the forgotten pile by the fire place, and got the medicine you needed in gloomy times. Seemingly small things can bring great joy.

So what will you read next ?!

Thank you so much, dear Eva! It was fun to write it and I really loved the book. I'm reading some books about the neuroscience of change at the moment and also a book called Notes from a Summer Cottage by a Swedish writer called Nina Burton. It's very interesting, but not exactly a rip-roaring read! I might write about it in another post.

And I am reading Elizabeth Strout’s ”My name is Lucy Barton”. I really like it. It reminds me of another book ”Education- a Memoire” by Westlove. I really liked that one too.

Thank you so much for taking me in to Elizabeth Strout’s writing.

Tara Westloves novel or actually it’s an autobiography I think is a very interesting read.
