Waldemarsudde is my favourite place in Stockholm and probably among my top places in the world. I am currently drafting an article about my dream job (inspired by the Artist's way) about being a head florist at Waldermarsudde- it is a thing/there is a person doing that and she is absolutely brilliant at tie) Milles gården is a delight too, but a bit off the beaten path. Tyska Galleriet on Djurgården is also absolutely fabulous
Oh, that’s a wonderful aspiration! The flowers there are exquisite. We went to Milles garden too. Amazing, but I’d like to see it in spring or summer. We missed Tyska Galleriet but will go next time. Thank you for the recommendation!
Well, that was a delightful armchair trip in the company of such a lovely hostess and guide. Happy, happy birthday to you! I am so glad that you were able to incorporate so much cake into your trip. Seems very fitting.
Stockholm makes me think of Tove Jansson. I saw a biopic about her a few years ago, and her life in that area seemed like something out of a fairy tale - not without its darkness, but mostly brimming with magic and a sense of otherworldliness. I have always wanted to visit.
Thank you for the most wonderful vicarious vacation, Christina - and Happy Birthday!! I know you are having a fabulous celebration. May it extend to being fabulous year!
Mycket Brå! I recognize so much in the way you look at the world. Same age here and same amount of wonder. And yes, morning coffee, evening coffee, cake and almond croissants.
Grattis på födelsedagen Christina! I loved your words and the photos- I could smell the hyacinth in that room... And regarding the 10 commandments, I think you should petition (whoever is in charge of such matters) for an update and add your "coffee with cake" decree to the list, birthday or not!
Thank you so much, Dr Heidi! When I'm Queen Christina of the World I will definitely make "let them drink coffee and eat cake" my number one commandment...
Mrs. N dragged a very skeptical, hot country lover, me to Stockholm one sleety November and I was converted from the moment we stepped out of the hotel - fabulous city.

Still catching up... Stockholm is such a beautiful city.
My big recommend would be the Vasa museum. And the cakes.

Thank you so much, lovely Jamie. I saw that documentary about Tove Jansson too and absolutely loved it. This is a magical part of the world.
Happy birthday. Stockholm is on my to do list. It looks and sounds fabulous. Obviously coffee and cake needs to be done.
Thank you so much, Louise - and, even more, for becoming a paid subscriber. I truly appreciate it - and your very kind words.

Happy Birthday! What a wonderful description of Stockholm - I now long to go.
Pah! 61 is nothing... and anyway, you're firing on all cylinders. Lisa E xx
Thank you so much, Lisa. I'm not sure I'm firing on all the cylinders I used to fire on, but I'll keep as many of them up and running as I can! xx
Happy birthday, Christina, and thank you for this glimpse of Stockholm's artist prince's former home. It's gorgeous.
Thank you so much, Wendy. It's lovely, isn't it! Now, time for more culture, coffee and cake...
Mycket Brå! I recognize so much in the way you look at the world. Same age here and same amount of wonder. And yes, morning coffee, evening coffee, cake and almond croissants.
What a lovely comment, Titia, thank you! Here's to being an excellent age (and to coffee, cake and almond croissants).

Thank you so much, Mark. I'm delighted you liked Stockholm as much as I do. Beauty, elegance, grace and cakes...
