Waldemarsudde is my favourite place in Stockholm and probably among my top places in the world. I am currently drafting an article about my dream job (inspired by the Artist's way) about being a head florist at Waldermarsudde- it is a thing/there is a person doing that and she is absolutely brilliant at tie) Milles gården is a delight too, but a bit off the beaten path. Tyska Galleriet on Djurgården is also absolutely fabulous

Oh, that’s a wonderful aspiration! The flowers there are exquisite. We went to Milles garden too. Amazing, but I’d like to see it in spring or summer. We missed Tyska Galleriet but will go next time. Thank you for the recommendation!

Still catching up... Stockholm is such a beautiful city.

My big recommend would be the Vasa museum. And the cakes.

Well, that was a delightful armchair trip in the company of such a lovely hostess and guide. Happy, happy birthday to you! I am so glad that you were able to incorporate so much cake into your trip. Seems very fitting.

Stockholm makes me think of Tove Jansson. I saw a biopic about her a few years ago, and her life in that area seemed like something out of a fairy tale - not without its darkness, but mostly brimming with magic and a sense of otherworldliness. I have always wanted to visit.

Mycket Brå! I recognize so much in the way you look at the world. Same age here and same amount of wonder. And yes, morning coffee, evening coffee, cake and almond croissants.

Grattis på födelsedagen Christina! I loved your words and the photos- I could smell the hyacinth in that room... And regarding the 10 commandments, I think you should petition (whoever is in charge of such matters) for an update and add your "coffee with cake" decree to the list, birthday or not!

Thank you so much, Dr Heidi! When I'm Queen Christina of the World I will definitely make "let them drink coffee and eat cake" my number one commandment...

Mrs. N dragged a very skeptical, hot country lover, me to Stockholm one sleety November and I was converted from the moment we stepped out of the hotel - fabulous city.
