Sending you love. As always, such a great piece when the words did eventually arrive. I’m with you on both the worry and the renovations (and the way they do seem to prevent you from thinking about anything else in any kind of productive way!)
Thank you so much, Donna. I'm glad I'm not alone in this! Have almost forgotten what it's like to have an active intellectual life. I hope your own renovations are going (have gone?) well and that your refreshed home will be an energising sanctuary... xx
This really moved me. Like you, I’ve clocked up almost 22 years of life since my cancer diagnosis, along with a desire to live them as closely aligned with all the things I love as possible. And recently I’ve also sensed the fragility of life more than usual, with a friend’s leukaemia diagnosis, plus my 5-year-old talking incessantly about death, which is entirely age-appropriate, but somewhat unsettling. X
Nice article and completely spot on. We always find who our friends are when disaster strikes. I hope your friends recover well from their surgery and treatments.
And speaking of contractors, I feel that too as we’ve just had to cut into our cabinets to get to the pipes that leaked all over the basement. I’m not enjoying the cost, as we only redid the kitchen 5 years ago.
Thank you so much, Paul. You are absolutely right. And I feel your pain on the cabinets/contractors! Once we have got through this, we are never, ever doing it again...

How wonderful that you're here (in all senses).
What a lovely thing to say, India, thank you - and happy Easter!
And to you!

Thank you, Annabel. I am always touched by your work. The five-year-old sounds like a helpful memento mori! Happy Easter to you and your family. X
This is a beautiful, thoughtful and heartfelt piece, Christina. Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you so much for your kind words, and Happy Easter!

Although ironically, that’s what I said five years ago when we redid the kitchen 🙂. Best of luck on your re-model!
